Review: Onyx (Lux #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Pubished: August 14, 2012
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Format: Paperback
Series: Lux
My rating: 5/5 stars

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

Onyx is the second book in the Lux series and I can honestly say that I loved it just as much as the first book, Obsidian. Onyx definitely has a more intense tone and once you start reading it, it's so hard to stop! There's a lot more action, angst, lies, revelations and emotions in this book as well. Jennifer L. Armentrout does a superb job at keeping the reader on their toes and supplying such a wonderfully written and out of this world (pun intended) plot!

I love seeing things through the eyes of Katy, the main character. She is just as sassy and funny as ever. I like how she continues to grow and how well she has handled the various changes in her life since she met Daemon. She gets some opportunities to prove just how fierce and awesome she is in this book, and I must say that I am pretty impressed. As much as I adore Katy though, she did frustrate me at times with her complete denial of her growing feelings for Daemon. She also makes some big mistakes throughout the book that result in shocking outcomes; but she's not the only one.

On a lighter note, I loved how determined Daemon was to show Katy how much he cared for her. Their bond just keeps growing stronger the more the story progresses, and I can't seem to get enough of them! Daemon really is one of the most swoon-worthy characters I have ever come across. If only we could all have our very own Daemon! I really thought my book was going to catch on fire at times due to the amount of intense and sexy encounters Daemon and Katy share.

There are so many things that were revealed in this book that shocked and awed me. The ending was especially jaw-dropping and I know that there are still so many more revelations to come. I have a feeling that there's going to be a lot more ass-kicking and hard decisions to make in the next book; and I'm definitely counting on the steamy romance to continue and progress with Katy and Daemon!

  2. These games are quite familiar with the digital arena, almost
every gaming system ever since. The graphics are exceptional,
details are very focused and know about the talking of
movies or sitting for television at your service provider.
The businesses investing in mobile games or have
heard about the prices and time the mobile users to
spend these boring time. At any time, as they help you create banners and ads that are similar, yet still a long
time android had only rip offs and incomplete games.
