"Best of the Bunch" is an awesome meme hosted every month by the lovely Lyrical Brown at Lyrical Reviews. It spotlights our absolute favorite book we read this month. My Best of the Bunch pick for November is:
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally
What girl doesn't want to be surrounded by gorgeous jocks day in and day out? Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though - she leads them as the captain and quarterback on her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys, and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university. But now there's a new guy in town who threatens her starring position on the team... and has her suddenly wishing to be seen as more than just a teammate.
My choice for the Best of Bunch award actually came down to a tie between this book and Anna and the French Kiss. My decision ultimately had to land on Catching Jordan though; because I literally sat down and read this book in one sitting after UPS delivered it to my door. I honestly can only think of one other instance when I've done such a thing, so this is why Catching Jordan is my favorite this month. It will forever be one of the best contemporaries I've ever read!
The synopsis given for this book doesn't even come close to how AMAZING and addictive it is, and you don't have to be a football fan or an avid contemporary reader to love it either. Jordan is a fantastic character, and the guys in her life are drool-worthy and absolutely lovable. Please do yourself a favor and get this book-- you won't be disappointed!
